Life Recap :: Where I've been

Hello friends! I can't believe it's been a full week since I've posted here. Life's been a little rough lately. I've wanted to avoid it... Life, people, work... Maybe I need a vacation, or a slap in the face, or a new multivitamin. I rounded up some photos from the last two weeks to show you what I've been up to while being melancholy. 

I caught up on Project Life, printed lots of photos, and organized my space... Only to make a mess of it again. Isn't that the crafty cycle?! There's a desk somewhere in that picture. Somewhere.

I cried a little when I stepped outside to see everything covered in snow and ice. In April. But that's Wisconsin. It would have been just fine had I not been hit on the head TWICE by ice chunks dropping off the tall street lights. 

I couldn't complain too much, because my dad took a few of my friends and I to see a late night showing of Jurassic Park in 3D. I may have had to hold onto my roommate a few times. The dinos are bigger, badder, and coming right for your face! Coolest dad around?! I think so.

We also welcomed my nephew, Hunter Scott, to the world. My brother and his wife named him after my dad (Scott, the cool 50 year old that goes to dinosaur movies and hunts a whole lot). He's the sweetest, most perfect thing... And we're already spoiling him. The world needs more babies.

I took my cousin, Megan, to this fun bar & grill downtown just blocks from my home. Do you see the excitement on her face?! I'd like to say it's because she was sitting across from me - a pretty face and a spunky personality - but she'd probably tell you it was because dessert had arrived. 

I rediscovered Freaks & Geeks... oh, Netflix, thank you for giving me hours of uninterrupted binge watching. I'm finally catching up on a bunch of design team work, and I'm so excited for the projects that will be posted on this blog in the next few weeks!

I headed to one of our favorite restaurants, Curly's Pub, for some major food-love. In a world surrounded with people getting hitched and popping out mini-me's, it's nice to have a few friends that are in the exact same stage of life as you. No expectations, no pressure... just pure happiness. 

Do you know what else makes me happy? The sale category at Two Peas in a Bucket and Unity Stamp Company. Daaang... Look at that loot. New scrappy things coming soon! 

It's always fun to look back at this cell phone full of random pictures. Even in the rough times, God has  blessed me abundantly. Thanks for joining in on today's recap... I hope you can look back and discover your own mini blessings. What have you been up to?

My Life In Pictures

It's been a while since I've shared my weekend in pictures... So I've rounded up some highlights from the last two months to share with you all. 

I tried my first vegan cupcake...

My pops turned 50 on Dec 21st, the scheduled day of our world's end... It didn't, and we celebrated with a surprise party, his family and friends, and a wall full of memories.

Christmas Eve was spent with close friends and family... Candlelight church service and the Chinese buffet! An odd but delightful tradition.

Christmas! So many kids... I can't wait until next year when my little niece or nephew will make his appearance.

I lost my first game of Settlers of Catan... But let's be honest, I won't be building real life villages any time soon. 

I started Project Life! I invested in lots of protectors and have incorporated them into my traditional scrapbooks. 

Planning pages! Finally documenting my recent trip to NYC.

My recent look... High bun, bangs, and no make up. At least I dressed up and got fancy for New Years Eve... and then didn't take any pictures to prove I looked good. hahahaha 

Spending every possible moment with my bestie, Anna. She's moving in less than a week! I'm so happy for her and yet soooo sad. I'm going to miss this face.

Creating lots of Make N Takes for Creations Galore, my day job. Beyond the projects, customers, and classes, I love inspiring future generations of crafters!

And lastly... Glitter. Everywhere. On me, on my schtuff, in the carpet... oh my. Even my eyelashes. I've officially learned a valuable lesson. Don't use glitter. I mean, be careful.

My weekend in pictures...

Good morning blogland! I spent the last two weekends at my family's cabin located in the Wisconsin Northwoods. There's no wi-fi or 4G LTE coverage, which may sound like a total nightmare. But it's something I look forward to. It helps calm the soul. I find time to read, bake, enjoy family, play cards, hike, think, and RELAX. There's just something different about the air... And of course, I still carry my cell at my side to gather a few pictures. Here's a collection of photos to recap the weekends away. Maybe a little of the pure, crisp air will transfer through the computer screen to where you are. 

 

My Weekend In Pictures

Hello there! I spent last night reviewing the pictures from the last few days and are there ever enough of them. Here's a few for you to enjoy...

The weekend started with some incredibly yummy food. The family went to a grill-your-own-steak joint to celebrate my brother's 20th birthday. 

How adorable is that cake? He later went on to use the fondant topper as a bow tie. What a guy...

As much as I would have LOVED to curl up on the couch Saturday morning, work needed to be done. A little peak at my current project: Creating sample wedding scrapbooks for an upcoming wedding show for Creations Galore.

Saturday night, downtown treated us real well. Dinner and chai lattes at my favorite cafe, visited a few fun shops, browsed some old vinyl records, got my face rocked off by this band, and had some late night pie. Let's do it again next weekend, ok?!

My brother and his wife have birthdays one week apart; therefore, we spent Sunday celebrating them both. How'd we do it? Pizza, a large group of friends, and arcade games. Only the best way.

Renegade Part 1 : The Fair

I was lucky enough to travel to Chicago for the Renegade Craft Fair. As my friend Anna stated, there was "so much facial hair and vintage." I felt right at home. I've wanted to attend Renegade in past years (this was Chicago's 10th annual fair); however, working at a small, independent business with your mom makes taking vacations together quite a challenge.

I gathered together (from left to right) my good looking momma, my dear friend Anna, my roomie Rachael, myself (it can be hard getting out of bed), and my pops (he's trying to be a safe driver). I have the greatest support system around. My dad despises big cities, Anna is weirded out by all that facial hair, and Rach still has no idea what the words 'indie artisian' mean. It's all ok. Because they came along for the ride... to experience what I love and adore... and I think they actually enjoyed themselves. 

If you've not heard of Renegade, visit their website now. No seriously. Go. Over 300 vendors selling 100% handmade goods - They even had a large section of vintage booths. I was delighted to run into sellers from my hometown! It was wonderful to network, attend a few workshops, shop, eat, shop, eat, and shop! Here's a few photos of the day:

My mom saw this alleyway and thought it would make a good picture... good call momma!

A few shops had set up free workshops. We attended one hosted by Lillstreet Art Center and had a private lesson on metalwork and jewelry making. 

My mom created a bracelet that said "You Me" (she's so in love with my dad, crazy cute), mine showed off my initials, and Rach hammered in "Wolfe Pack" (an inside joke making reference to the movie Hangover, only to spell it completely wrong... I adore her).
