Paper piecin' the night away...

Friday, December 9, 2011

My roomie always makes fun of me for the hours I spend coloring and cutting as stress relief. It may be a tad strange, but it's healthier than boozing it up, right?! Hmm.... Well here's an example of tedious paper piecing and embellishing. It got my mind off the cares of the day and created a pretty end result. Hope you enjoy!

The Good Life

Thursday, December 8, 2011

Sundays just aren't Sundays without:
The encouragement and conviction found at my church.
Lunch with my family.
Green Bay Packers football.
A nap and/or snuggling on the couch.
A visit with my closest friends.

It's true. And this past Sunday, I seriously both laughed and cried at church, ate way too much at the lunch buffet with the fam, almost had a heart attack watching the Pack (can we say 12-0?!), had a Hot Rod viewing party, and dominated at Pictionary. I'm a pretty lucky gal.

Team One: Chels & Josh

We made up our own rules to make it a little more interesting.

Team Two: Mike & Beckah

My lovely partner, Ryan -- We won!
And of course photo bomber, Chels

There's no room for mad drawing skills in this game :)

I may need to find the scraps of paper we all drew on to show off our funny drawings... They won't win any awards but they'll be sure to make you laugh!

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas...

Hello friends. I'm sorry I've been MIA the last week. This holiday hustle and bustle may be catching up with me. I managed to fill my cozy apartment with a few holiday decorations and put the tree up all by myself! Only thing left to do is find a strong, good looking male to hang the mistletoe...

With Love

Friday, December 2, 2011

This card began as an experiment with a simple sentiment to create a background. I stamped the gumball machine first, created a mask, and stamped 'with love' multiple times. I wasn't really sure what I was creating and started stamping the sentiment in random spots. As you can see, the lines aren't perfectly aligned. But once completed, I kind of liked the look it created. I then colored in the image and turned it into the card you see here. I love when experiments evolve into a cute, completed project.

Hey Good Lookin'

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Last night Market Street Stamps debuted their November Releases. After placing my order, I waited on the couch in anticipation of their arrival. There may have been just a small bit of pouting as I realized they wouldn't magically appear in my lap. So I grabbed the sets I already had and created late into the night... For my first card of the night, I started with this sketch from Unscripted Sketches.

And here's my card..

The image and sentiment came from the Chillaxin set from Market Street... one of my favorites. It may be a little chilly here in Wisconsin to don a swimsuit, but here's to wishful thinking!
