March Card Sketch with Practical Scrappers

Good afternoon! I'm excited to bring you one of the two March Card Sketches from Practical Scrappers. It's a great sketch, and I guarantee you'll want to play along!

I used a fun, new set from Peachy Keen Stamps. How adorable are the dish and spoon?! I colored the images with Copic markers and added it to the square portion of the sketch.

Go ahead... Kiss Me

Hey Paper Crafters, it's Card Making Monday! Today I had fun sorting through my stamps looking for St. Patrick's Day images and came across this ADORABLE set I had yet to use. The set is Kiss Me Leprechaun from Peachy Keen Stamps. 

The image was colored with Copic markers and layered onto patterned paper by Reminisce. I just can't get over how cute he is!

Card Making Monday

Happy Monday! I'm back with two new cards I created as Make N Takes for Creations Galore. If you're local, I'd love for you to stop in and create these fun cards for yourself! 

First up, is this card the most adorable papers from Echo Park. Who doesn't love a little, I mean a lot, of pie on Thanksgiving?!

Next we're enjoying winter snowflakes using a Peachy Keen stamp set. These faces are beyond adorable. The border and solid image were stamped with different colors of ink. The cheeks were then added with pink colored pencil to match the large bow.

Unscripted Sketches :: Flashback Sketch #69

Thanks for stopping by this morning! We've got another Flashback Sketch from Unscripted Sketches! This summer, the design team has been going back in time, picking randomly selected sketches to use in a new and creative way! This Saturday, sketch #69 is the inspiration! 

I flipped the sketch upside down and mixed up a few of the elements. 

For this card, I was determined to use nothing but a 6x6 paper pad from Crate paper. Therefore, I made the base smaller than my average cards, creating a folded card of 3x5 inches. It's the perfect size to include in a baby shower gift! The bunny was stamped on the same cardstock as the card base and then again on patterned paper to piece together the pink elements. The white banner for the sentiment was the back side of a scrap of patterned paper from the pack.

Sketch It Saturday :: Flashback Summer

Good morning! This summer at Unscripted Sketches is a fun one! We're taking a look at previous sketches and bringing new life to them. There's lots of inspiration, fun, and prizes! 

I'm joining in for Sketch #56 a little late, but I couldn't resist giving this one a try!

For this card, I first laid down several layers of baby boy themed papers to coordinate with this precious bear stamp from Peachy Keen Stamps. The image was colored with Copic markers and adhered to the card front with foam risers for added dimension.

Cards For Your Morning...

Good morning paper crafters! I have a few cards I created for Creations Galore this past week ready to share with you! 

How adorable are these images from Peachy Keen Stamps?! Love the eyelash detail on the right piece of corn. So cute! I stamped the larger corn stalk on the background paper and layered a flower border to create a fun scene for the two images colored with Copic markers. 

A small tip for working with faces... Color right over them rather than trying to carefully work around them. When the image is colored just right, come back in with the Copic Colorless Blender and push the color outside the lines of the eyes. You can also choose to use an opaque white pen over the colored eyes. My favorite is the Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen. 

The second card was a quick and easy card using patterned paper. I embossed the sentiment onto a cream strip and adhered it to the card with foam risers! This is my go-to design when I need to make up a quick card for any occasion.

Unscripted Sketches #219 :: First Home

Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I'm sharing a new sketch from Unscripted Sketches with you today! 

This week, I rotated the sketch and placed the half circle (doily) on top of the rectangle (vellum). I added a few more rectangles and these cute stamps, embossed in black and colored with Tombow Markers.

On Trend :: Triangles

The Practical Scrappers' On Trend Team is exploring one of the hottest new trends showing up on scrapbook pages everywhere. To show the trend isn't just a part of scrapbooking, I created this card for the post. But silly, silly me forgot to upload the picture to the PS blog post in time. Make sure you head over to the PS blog to see the wonderful projects from the rest of the On Trend Team. They rocked this new trend.

I started with a piece of acetate cut to 5.5" x 8.5"and folded it in half. Next, I added a base to adhere all of my elements to the front and created a second piece for the inside, giving me something to write a special note on. To create the triangles, I cut 3.5" squares in half and layered them onto the card base. A simple sentiment was added, and it's ready to be mailed off!

Sketch It Saturday :: Hey Smartie!

Hello again! Unscripted Sketches has a new sketch for you to try! 

And here's the card I created for the challenge: 

Rather than piecing together smaller pieces of paper, I stuck with two patterned pieces and a sheet of vellum. I trimmed the striped paper to add the sentiment below it, creating the illusion of the bottom block of the sketch. The owl and sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps was stamped on Copic X-Press It paper and colored with my favorite Copic marker colors. Because I already stamped a sentiment onto the card, I decided to add just a splash of color along the top right of the card base. I took the spray nozzle off the bottle of Dylusions spray, and used the plastic straw of the nozzle to drop the mist onto the card. With this technique, you get chunky splatter rather than a fine mist.

Good morning! Thanks for all of the comment-love lately. I've really appreciated the wonderful feedback! 

Today I have a fun card to share using the most adorable stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps. The sentiment is a great introduction to this blog!

I stamped the cloud and tractor on Copic X-Press It cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. The patterned papers are from different companies; however, I think they're perfect with this stamp. They sure give a country feel.

Gobble 'Til Ya Wobble

Good morning! Yesterday, I posted three new cards on the Creations Galore blog, including this fun Thanksgiving card. How ADORABLE is this turkey and the sentiment from Peachy Keen Stamps?!

My jute ribbon obsession continues. After tying a bow, I added a self-adhesive pearl to the knot. 

I stamped the image and sentiment in Memento dye ink and colored him with Copic markers. After blending the colors, I added a few dots of the darkest color marker to add some texture. I was really happy with how it turned out.

 I'm getting so excited for Thanksgiving... It's my favorite holiday of the year!

All of the stamps used on this card come from their Faceless Fall Set. I stamped the small leaf in several colors as the background. The paper pieced pumpkins are surely making their way onto our Thanksgiving tablescape, maybe place cards or napkin rings?

Football is here! We're three weeks into the regular football season, and it's time to celebrate. To do so, I'm sharing a card celebrating my favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. They are, after all, the best. ;)

Light Up My Life - Card Challenge

The Hillbilly Holler sets from Peachy Keen Stamps are bound to brighten anyone's day... They sure make me smile. I've used this image from Set One multiple times, coloring him in with my Copic markers and giving him rosy cheeks. Head over to Peachy Keen Stamps to see all the other fun images available. 

I was always terrified of eyelets. It may have been about 2 years after I started card making that I actually watched a YouTube video on how to set them. It's so easy and is such a fun embellishment. If you were like me and a little scared to take the plunge, let me encourage you to head to your local scrapbook store and ask them for help... or find a video to try it out at home. Knowing how simple it is to set an eyelet now, I'm almost embarrassed to admit I was ever hesitant to experiment with them. Are there any tools or techniques that "scare" you?

I must admit, I was a bit thrown off by this week's sketch. It took inking up a few stamps before I finally had that 'Ah Ha' moment. I can't get over how adorable these birds are. The image, along with the sentiment, are a part of the Scarecrow Accessories stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps. I'm still debating what I might use this card for... a new neighbor, new member at church, maybe a cute dinner party invite... Who would you give this card to?
