Card Making Monday

This card came together quickly! Just a few layers of cardstock and patterned paper, a beautiful Penny Black sentiment, and satin ribbon. Satin ribbon is my go-to supply for elegant cards.

Sometimes life is hard...

While designing new Make N Take card kits for Creations Galore, I found myself drawn to this stamp by Market Street Stamps. Over the last few weeks, I've learned exactly what these words mean and am beginning to see those disguised blessings. Life has been just plain hard. But the sun rises again, God is good, and we heal. Are you dealing with some tough stuff? I wish the best for you this day. May you too begin to see all the good in your circumstances. 

SUPPLIES 

Cardstock: Paper Cut 

Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee (Eau De Parfume, Beauty Parlor)

Stamps: Market Street Stamps

Ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black)

Vellum Hearts and Distressing Techniques

Had some fun distressing this patterned paper with various inks. I first added Tea Dye Distress Ink around the outside edges with the foam applicator tool from Ranger. After that, I lightly set my Memento dye ink pad onto the patterned paper, adding the flecks and various lines. I added the harsh lines to the very outside edges of the paper as well. I made a second card, making sure to keep lines away from where I wanted to stamp the sentiment. 

I thought the combination of the empty bird cage and vellum heart expressed the sentiment in a real and beautiful way. What do you think?
