Layout Tuesdays

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

The cutie in this picture isn't my prince, but he sure helped make this great layout. It's a gorgeous image from photographer friend, Megs Colleen. The layout is featured over on Creations Galore's blog today as part of their Layout Tuesday feature. To read about my favorite aspects of this layout and to get a bit of inspiration, head over there now.

Thanks for checking out my work!

Before sharing a fun card with you, join me in celebrating some good news. While checking out the new releases from Market Street Stamps, I was excited to discover I was picked as one of January's Cream Of The Crop. Head on over to their blog to check out my project and to give them a little lovin'.

Now onto today's post... Last night while watching (what may have been a full season of) Say Yes To The Dress on Netflix, I got my craft on. The first card I created was for the 5th Anniversary Sketch Challenge over at Card Positioning Systems

I didn't stray too far from the actual sketch but loved how purrr-fect the card came together. Sorry, that was quite cheesy... I just had to! Here's my card:

SUPPLIES Cardstock: A Muse, Paper Cut. Patterned Paper: A Muse, DCWV.
Stamps: Market Street Stamps. Inks: A Muse French Roast & Cherry.

Head over to CPS to join in their anniversary challenges. This week they're posting a new challenge daily with lots of opportunities to win great prizes. Thanks for stopping by... Happy Tuesday!

Won't You Be Mine

Monday, January 30, 2012

Hop on over to Creation Galore's blog today to see a Mini Album I created for an upcoming class. If you're in the Green Bay area, I'd love for you to join me in creating your own. You can reserve a spot here... and to view a schedule of all upcoming classes, wonder on over here.

The album is made out of 5 ordinary brown paper bags, Reminisce's Be Mine Collection, and the most adorable e-session from Megs Colleen. I printed these photos off of a laser printer to further take on the 'ordinary to extraordinary' challenge. When photographing the album, the scan lines from the printer were hard to eliminate. Therefore, they truly don't give accurate credit to how talented Megs is. I highly recommend stopping by her blog or Facebook page and checking out her photography.

Happy Monday friends! What projects did you work on this weekend?

My brother helped me pick out my airplane seating arrangements. I officially booked a flight to NYC to see Mr. PJM on Valentine's Day. February can't come soon enough.

While not blogging Part Two...

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

I took some time to celebrate the turning of a new year.

A mixture of work and play...

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Today you can find me posting over at Creations Galore's blog, sharing a few photos of my preparations before teaching a class. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach a few ladies all about stamping, papers, coloring with water based markers, masking, and card making. They were so fun to teach! When I first took this job, I could not have imagined how many friends I would make. Every day I'm blessed with new crafters to share ideas with. While inspiring each other and connecting over the mutual love of crafting, we learn about each other's lives. I take pride in knowing that Creations Galore, the business I work for, is not just a business... but a place where you can find retail therapy, a new crafting technique, and friends.

Stop by Creations Galore's blog today to see that behind the scenes look. And if you're in the Green Bay area, stop into the store and say hi.

While not blogging Part One...

I broke out the watercolors

and colored a few doodles

I'm hoping to frame the watercolor doodle once finished and hang it in my craft room. Crafting truly is my escape, my refuge, my stress relief. It makes the everyday ordinary seem exciting and the troubles disappear. It changes my perspective and forces me to see things differently. Art moves me. And so does this quote.

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." hmm.. Pablo. I wish I had thought of that.

Back With Happy Wishes

Monday, January 23, 2012

Hello friends. I'm a little ashamed that I haven't been posting lately. Between illness and craziness at work, I haven't had motivation to do any crafting or blogging. But this past weekend, I got a kick toward organization, created a new planning binder, and found my passion again. To start off the week, here's a card I created for a Make N Take at Creations Galore. I absolutely love cutting out butterflies (stamped images or from decorative paper) and using them as a dimensional element on cards and scrapbook layouts.

Today I'm sharing a card I created as a Make N Take for Creations Galore. I'm really digging the color combo. I started out with this yellow, pinks, and light blues, and it evolved into the bold colors you see here.

Paper: Bazzill

My heart will always be my home...

Remember that post about sunny Florida? or that one with a beautiful drawing of Wisconsin? States are becoming quite the trend in my daily doodles...

This one became a little gift for my dear friend, Amber. She's from Missouri and not the biggest fan of my fine state. How could you not love us dairy folk?! But she's found herself a cute man here in Wisconsin, is getting married this May, and is finding her way in the world. I give her so much credit. Personally, I don't know that I have it in me to leave my family, friends, and way of life. But she's done it. She's spreading her wings and soaring. I know it can't be easy, so I made this little number. A reminder of the place she holds dear (that wishbone/upside-down-u-thing is the St Louis Arch) and some lyrics from a Rachel Lampa song. I pray she'll always seek to find purpose wherever she finds herself, knowing God truly has a special reason for her presence there. If anything, it's to be one of my bestest friends.
