dancing in the rain

it's a rainy day here in wisconsin, which always puts me into a crafty mood. i found it the perfect opportunity to experiment with some tim holtz products i've yet to do too much with. it wasn't until after taking a picture of the card that i noticed how appropriate the sentiment was for today. 

after creating this card, i'm officially in love with the tissue wrap from tim holtz. perfect for tags, watercolor collages, boxes and frames.... not to mention make beautiful gift wrap. i guarantee i'll be turning this into a make n take for creations galore... everyone needs to give this product a try.

but i choose to call it love.

my dearest friend, amber, and i once had this odd habit of taking pictures of ourselves in the bathroom during special occasions. road trips, birthday parties, girls night out. it's a little weird. rather crazy. but looking back on years of the most comical, insane pictures, i can't help but tear up a bit. so tonight, while watching revenge of the nerds (don't judge) i'm scrapbooking these little gems. they deserve their place in the documentation of my life. she deserves a special place in the documentation of my life. a little cheers to the pretty girl that never judges my insanity... for she too, is just as crazy as i.

it's been far too long since i've used oil pastels... therefore, i dusted off my set and made a quick drawing with them. does anyone else love their distinct smell?! it's ok... i'm weird. i've completely forgotten proper techniques. there will be a few youtube videos in my future. 

i'm in recovery mode.

this past week has been quite a busy one. lots of classes and new month planning at work, along with preparing for my brother's wedding kept my planner full. take a look at this past weekend:

that blank sunday was sure needed. in fact, i woke up on my couch, still in my dress and shoes, holding my cell phone and a piece of cake, at 5 am sunday... i guess i danced it up a little too much. who falls asleep like that?! we met up with the bride and groom for some lunch and a nice, quick gift opening, and then it was rest and relaxation for the rest of the day. i'm a little sad it's all over... back to 'normal' life for me. only now with a sister! happiness all around.
