One Last Halloween Layout

Good afternoon paper crafters! I have one last Halloween project to share this year. This was one I created a month or more ago, preparing for Halloween, and then I forgot about it! 

The pictures on the layout are not the best quality. They were taken in dim lighting, without a flash, on a cell phone. Therefore, I wanted to incorporate as much white and grey as possible to lighten up the pictures. Most of the papers and embellishments come from the Bewitched collection by We R Memory Keepers. The hexagons were cut from a patterned paper in the collection, opting to scatter them onto a white background than use a chunk of the paper. 

Just a bit of stamping and enamel dots finish off this layout. It was a quick one to put together. 

With that, I say goodbye to October and fully embrace the Thanksgiving season. Stop by tomorrow for a Fall-themed project. You won't want to miss it!

Use It Tuesday : Stick It

Good Morning! It's time for another Use It Tuesday Challenge! We're challenging you to use up all your sticky stuff. That's stickers, tape, and anything with adhesive! 

Just remember, this challenge calls for you to use your hoarded supplies. Link up your own project at the Use It Tuesday blog by Noon EST on Friday, November 22nd, letting us know what sticky item you used. As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer for an upcoming challenge!

Now let's get to my creation for the challenge... 

Now, I know we're past Halloween, but I found some old Doodlebug stickers this week and forced myself to use them! I used 3D foam squares to pop up the 'Oct 31' center as well as the banner letters - All stickers. Who said stickers had to stay flat to the page?!

I used one of my favorite adhesives, Glossy Accents, to adhere the baker's twine to the page. It's easy to get a small, invisible line of adhesive, and it dries so fast! I highly recommend it for ribbons, buttons, and more! The last use of stickers were these stars in matching colors. I used my finger to curl up the star edges slightly so they wouldn't blend in with the background. 

Thanks Use It Tuesday! I'm so glad I took another look at those banner and frame stickers. They worked great for this layout! Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create.

October Spotlight :: Free Project Downloads

Each month, select stamps will share the A Muse Studio Spotlight with a gorgeous color palette to create projects that showcase the versatility of paper crafting.  October's Spotlight is coming to an end, and I don't want you to miss out on these great deals and free project downloads!

Let's first get into the projects!

To start it off, we have these fantastic witch boots cupcake toppers! Download the free template here. Simply print the template on the white side of A Muse Studio cardstock, and cut out each boot with scissors or an x-acto knife. Use our fun Onyx Paper Straws for the legs - Cut to size and make a slit in the top of straw to hold the boot. You can add some bling with A Muse Studio pearls or twinkle stickers. This would be a great treat for a Wizard of Oz themed party too!

Pretty Party favors: Look how easy these ones are to make. A little tissue paper to wrap your goodies, a stamped sheet of cardstock, and some baker's twine to tie the ends. Fast. Easy. Pretty. Perfect!

How about some treat bags? These adorable owls would be great for Halloween, but what about party favors at a child's birthday party or baby shower. And they're so easy to make! 

To make them, you'll need a piece of cardstock that measures 8" x 2-3/4". Download the easy to follow template here. Score the cardstock at 3", 3-1/2" and 6-1/2". Make diagonal cuts from the 6-1/2" line to the center to make the beak. Now decorate!

Did you spot the orange and black baker's twine on the owl favors?  Make your own with our Onyx Baker's Twine and Orange Splash!  The possibilities are endless! Cut a length of baker's twine, spritz some Splash! into a plastic container and roll the twine around in the Splash! ink.  Let stand to dry.  Colored twine in an instant! And the ink is permanent! The baker's twine rolls are 280 yards each for only $9.95.  Such a great deal! A few days ago I shared a fun Halloween card using stamps from We R Memory Keepers. Their clear stamp sets are only $1.25, so I just can't resist picking up a few from each new collection! 

With the two stamps sets above, I created Saturday's card and the one below. Take a look:

I punched out three squares and stamped the spider first. Next, I used a single line stamp from the Nuts About Nature Set. Don't have the set? Let me first say, you should! :) It has a great mix of shapes. But no worries, you could line up the two squares and create the web with a ruler and marker. My favorite is the black ZIG Writer.

I get scared easily, so I'm don't usually go crazy celebrating and decorating for Halloween. These stamps, however, were far too cute not to use! Do you send out Fall or Halloween cards?

Good morning... Well, it's actually afternoon. Today is a cold one here in Wisconsin and a "Nicole-Just-Doesn't-Want-To-Get-Out-Of-Bed-Can-I-Curl-Up-And-Sleep-All-Day" kind of a day... I even heard from my brother this morning at our cabin just an hour north that it's SNOWING. Winter is coming. But before it does, I have a fun Halloween card for you using Sketch 179 from Unscripted Sketches.
